Really enjoyed this place. Close to the Forum and Inglewood Cemetery on Manchester. Just west of Prarire. Ample parking in rear.

Ambiance is lowkey. Setup reminds me of a Farmers Boys seating arrangement...but with lots of homey touches...plastic blue flowers on table, big pump bottle of hand sanitizer at your table, Thank you cards in place card holders. You feel this place values your patronage.

This family-run business has grandkids at reception and behind the register. They don't look excited to be working ...but they will appreciate the work experience grandma foists upon them one day.

The food.  Ordered the lunch special. $13.99. You can select one meat. 2 sides, you get two cornbread. And free raspberry tea before 2 PM. We ordered up the collards greens, excellent. Yams, sweet. Mac n Cheese, really yum. Also we both ordered the fried chicken. My mom got dark meat. I ordered white. The skin was crunchy and tasty...the color was a bit dark, so the white was super dry. So the fry was a bit uneven. Some pieces were lightly fried, others had that "I was fried and waiting 20 minutes under a heat lamp" look. I had the fry been better, the taste of the seasonings were yum.

I asked for the server to return so we could order dessert to go, but this didn't happen so we paid at the register, and had a nice chat with grandma and the young man behind the register. Both lovely people.

The woman who brought us our food, different from the waiter who took our order, was warm and friendly. No complaints about service. Just my seat...it was a bench that wasn't affixed properly so when I dated on the end, the bench went up like a teeter totter.  Only a bummer was we didn't get to try the sweet potato pie.

Love the decor in the bathroom. Enjoyed the artwork. (See pics.) The floor was a bit sticky tho.

Loved the sides. We'll be back to try the black eyed peas and the fried catfish.

***OMG read end of this post OMG***
    The food was GRRRREATT
MAC & CHEESE,  CORN BREAD, DRESSING, POTATOES SALAD, RED BEANS AND CHICKEN
BBQ or BAKED was HELL AMAZING FLAVOR!!!!!
service was great 2 young men were very polite to us.

***the reason i gave this place one star cause  RACISM  of the other female server.  She went to ALL black family greeted them at table their table spoke to them.  All we got from her was this VERY dirty look.  So i sat watched her she didn't greet or spoke to these other family cause the weren't BLACK.   NOW people complain about being discriminated BUT really.      This place have a PICTURE  of   MLK JR. hanging on their WALL!!!
now wasn't MKL against racism??    and this place doesn't have RIGHT to hang his picture up.     I know this owner or whoever going to read this won't do nothing about this.    So girl you have NO right to be working in a public restaurant when there's  different types of ethics going there for breakfast lunch or dinner.

I am so sorry that i am CHICANA born and raised here.

But i don't  treat people like shit or throw a dirty look over at them.

Yes you did GREET My husband and he said that you were all smiles UNTIL i walked in sat across from him.       He also notices you too.

So PLEASE take down  MKL picture  cause that girl server is RACIST as HELL.

Once again the food was great!

This restaurant needs to step it alll the way up. It's in a prime location and I think with some revamping it could survive all the changes coming to Inglewood.

I went to the drive thru 15 minutes before closing so understandably all the menu items were not available. I ended up ordering smothered fried chicken (white meat), dressing, Mac and cheese, and cranberry sauce. I thought it would come with corn bread or a roll but maybe they were out of those.

The cashier was very nice and pleasant so the service was fine. The food on the other hand, worst soul food I've ever had at a restaurant, maybe even ever. The Mac and cheese was bland, taste like salt and bad cheese. The dressing was inedible, it was lumpy and dry even though it was smothered in gravy. The fried chicken was crispy but lacked flavor. The wing was cooked well but the breast was undercooked on the inside. The gravy on the chicken tasted like salt and pepper was the only seasoning.

It was disappointing but I should not have been surprised. This was my second experience there and the first time everything I had was just bland. I can't even remember what I had because nothing about it stood out. I really hope they can get it together because the drive thru makes it so convenient. Unfortunately, the food is not worth even a second long wait.

Terrible, old, nasty, scrappy like someone doesn't want to spend money on quality meat and ingredients soulless food.

First off I'd like to say I should've listened to my first thought when I saw a "B" in the window, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. To keep it short I could not believe what I saw in the container when I got home. My kids refused to eat anything on the play and I tasted it and saw why. This business needs to go ahead and close down!!! They take no pride in our cultural food. I encourage the owner to get it together!! Make you food fresh use good ingredients and don't try to profit off of trash.

Dulan's is wayyyy better and that's not saying a whole lot. What has happened to Soul food in California?

This place is filthy and made me itch just by walking in there. Dead flies on the windowsill, caked up food on the "leather" curtains. Not appealing at all. Complete turnoff.
